“Mental health…is not a destination, but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going.” Noam Shpancer, PhD
I value the courage it takes to show up to a therapeutic space and honour this with commitment to providing a non-judgmental and empathetic space that allows a person to be seen and to share their story. Relationships play a crucial role in our lives. In therapy, relationships are equally important as they create a safe and trusting environment that is built on trust, empathy, and understanding. Together, we can create a plan that is tailored specifically for you as well as your needs to meet your goals and improve your sense of well-being. As a therapist, I believe in the power of integrating a variety of coping strategies and techniques to best support individuals and families. Each person is unique and may respond differently to different approaches, which is why flexibility and listening to the approach that resonates with a client is key. I recognize the importance of meeting people where they are and embracing diverse approaches to seeking solutions.
Working in an alternative school has provided me tools and skills to work with people who struggle with anxiety, school/peer related issues, self esteem, executive functioning concerns. The holistic system in working with young people, provides me with experience in supporting parents and carers of children with behaviour and school issues. In addition, I have experience helping those suffering with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts and self-harm and work or life related stresses.
